Beginner / Jr. Band

Beginner /Jr. Band begins October 5th.  Students should enroll in Beginner Band SPARK. Students will have 4 sessions with members of the Fredericton City Marching Band. They will choose an instrument: flute, clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, or tuba.  Once fall Spark is finished, Jr. Band will begin regular meetings. Jr. Band will meet Thursday afternoons 4-5 pm. Students may go home afterschool and return for practice, or they may stay afterschool in the band room for personal practice time.  Students must behave responsibly and work independently if staying afterschool. The cost of Jr. Band is $155 for the year.

Senior Band

Senior Band is intended for woodwind, brass and percussion players with some experience.  Senior Band will begin Monday, October 16th.Senior Band will meet Monday afternoons 4-5 pm. Students may go home afterschool and return for practice, or they may stay afterschool in the band room for personal practice time. Students must behave responsibly and work independently if staying afterschool.  If there is no school on Monday, Senior Band will join the Thursday practice. Please bring your instrument with you to rehearsal.  A minimum one-year experience is recommended. The cost of Senior Band is $165 for the year.

Instruments

Students should provide their own instruments. These may be rented from local businesses, such as Long & McQuade. (506) 458-5858   fredericton@long-mcquade.com We have a limited quantity of instruments available at school to lease.  If you would like to rent an instrument from the school, please contact band director, Nadine Martin pianogrrl1027@gmail.com We are hoping to have a wonderful turn out for our band program. If cost of the program or access to instruments is a problem, please reach out via email to michelle.ashfield@nbed.nb.ca to arrange sponsorship.
